Profile

Widescreen Media is a Stereoscopic 3D (S3D) and High-Definition Production and Post-Production facility based in Singapore.
Established in 2006 as one of Singapore’s pioneering HD post facilities, it has evolved and grown to include other core services such as:

  • S3D production & post-production for Feature Films, Commercials, Events, etc.
  • Provider of S3D equipment, technical services and specialised manpower & consultation
  • 4K/2K/HD production, consultation and post-production for Feature Films, Commercials, Events, TV, etc.

As a boutique, dynamic company, Widescreen Media plans to continue to grow in size and in works; and has already expanded our portfolio beyond the local shores. We are also part of the the pioneering 3DTV trial in Singapore, and continue to actively acquire cutting-edge S3D technologies in both capture and post to provide our clients the best experience in the realm of S3D, 4K and HD.

Currently, Widescreen Media has played pivotal roles in four international S3D shoots, including acclaimed director Tsui Hark’s Flying Swords of Dragon Gate 3D, the world’s first Wuxia (period martial arts) film in S3D, and Catching Monkey, also by Tsui  Hark. Bait 3D, helmed by Aussie duo Russel Mulcahy and Kimble Rendall, was the 2010 follow up to our first S3D feature from 2009, the long-awaited Amphibious 3D by cult director Brian Yuzna.

Widescreen Media was also responsible for the post-production for several acclaimed feature film releases, including Fly Entertainment’s debut, Perfect Rivals; and HERE by auteur Ho Tzu Nyen which played at the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.

We are also actively involved in the film community of Asia, and are part of the Media Development Authority’s Integrated Media Fund (SIMF), in partnership with Hong Kong’s Salon Films. It funds films of up to $20m in budget, and is aimed at international co-produced feature films. For more information, click here.

As an avid supporter of the local film industry, Widescreen Media also involves itself in independent works via sponsorships and other means; and has since built long-standing partnerships with many companies and filmmakers in the community.
